About a week ago news came out that Bill Bennett had taken part in gambling.
Bill B. has been a leading fighter in the culture battle. Newsweek magazine said he has gambled $8 million over ten years. His wife denies it was actually that much.
There are some folks saying what Bill has said about our culture now has no power. Well, excuse me the Bible was written by men who were sinners though they were guided by God's spirit.
So should we forget what the Bible has said no. Bill is not the writer of right/wrong he is just the messenger.
Now far as gambling goes it is 100% wrong. I looked in my N.I.V. study Bible this A.M. and it said under gambling look up stealing and under stealing it said taking what belongs to someone else.
In my view those of us who back family values should not take part at all in gambling because the money we gamble could be put to better use like helping those in need or supporting those who try to help others like food missions.
Far as Bill B. goes he says he will not gamble anymore. I think that is good and as a born again Christian I try not look at what people use to do but how they are living now.
Bill needs our prayers not condemnation.
